If creativity is connected to freedom, it is precisely that apparent rift between creativity and its limit – the part that is put forward and the part that cannot be predicted -, which can become a symphony. A spirited symphony, which here sees the ancestral and the future join together, in a persuasive call to a primitive aesthetic with a material feel.
For an individual woman who never fails to surprise there are strict, geometric cuts and shapes which are broken down and enhanced with decorations and embellishments made of strips of cloth, chiffon and satin or silk ribbons applied and assembled individually, all carefully crafted and tailored, yet never affected or indulgently romantic. The inspiration comes from the paintings of Hemmes, whose canvases feature cracks, cuts and tears which blend to form iridescent layers of material and sense, which encourage vibrant emotional flows.
A palette of soft, dusty shades: varying degrees of grey from iron to charcoal, indigo, navy and black, illuminated by the flash of steel and platinum. The materials are lightweight, soft and enveloping: precious loom woven cloths of angora and wool conceal original linings for coats, flowing silk satins and barely there chiffons, combined with sophisticated fine knits for dresses, tops and blouses. The result is a dynamic, raised, rounded, pleated surface, with painstakingly remodelled volumes.

Se la creatività è un associare in libertà, è proprio quell’apparente dissidio tra la creatività e il suo limite – quello che ci si pone e quello che non si può prevedere – che può farsi sinfonia. Una vitale sinfonia che qui vede congiungersi l’ancestrale e il futuro, in un suadente richiamo ad un’estetica primitiva dal sapore materico.

I materiali sono leggeri, morbidi, avvolgenti: preziosi panni d’angora e lane operate tessute a telaio celano originali fodere per i capispalla, fluidi rasi di seta e impalpabili chiffon si confondono e fondono con raffinate magline per gli abiti, top e camicette. Il risultato è una superficie mossa, sollevata, bombata, ripiegata, sottomessa ad un calibrato modellarsi dei volumi.
